Shamanism and Psychology in Ancient Greece and India
The Evolution of Psyche
This second volume applies the framework developed in Book 1 to the Indo-European world - from the Greek-speaking lands of the eastern Mediterranean to the Ganges plain. The evolutionary aspect of the series framework is first expanded to include the psychologies of oral cultures, before this is applied to Greece and India. A single cumulative argument runs through the whole book, highlighting the central roles of shaman-figures in ancient psychology.
